Plant Science is the study of plants and how they live, including structure, physiology, development, and classification. Includes plant cultivation, development, ecology, genetics and plant breeding, pathology, physiology, systematics, and evolution.
Subcategories include: Agriculture and Agronomy; Ecology; Genetics and Breeding; Growth and Development; Pathology, Plant Physiology; and Systematics and Evolution.

Research areas include biology, chemistry, physics, engineering, and computer science. Course topics are project development, proposal construction, technical writing, statistics, ethics, use of Microsoft Office/Google Workspace, information processing, and scientific display.
Differences to Expect When Viewing Research Practicum Projects: Due to Research Practicum projects taking up to a year's worth of study, the data portion of the project may not be developed. Students with Research Practicum are required to present either preliminary data, one trial, or have a prototype ready for the STEM Fair.
