Join us for Eagle Hour
(M-W 2:30-3:30)
What Is Eagle Hour?
Eagle Hour is Frederick Douglass High School’s after-school academic support program for 9th-grade students. Sessions are designed to help students access and actively engage in high-quality virtual tutoring through Brainfuse, an online, on-demand tutoring platform that provides live academic support, writing feedback, and skill-building resources across all core content areas including AP courses and Spanish language support. (Learn more about Brainfuse here: Brainfuse Program Overview)
During Eagle Hour, students will receive structured support in logging into Brainfuse, preparing meaningful questions, staying engaged during tutoring sessions, and ensuring that what they learn transfers directly back into their classroom performance. The goal is not only to complete assignments, but to strengthen understanding, build independence, and improve long-term academic habits.
Support for English, Math, Science, and Social Studies is available during every session.
Eagle Hour is available on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays after school.
Transportation is not currently available; students must arrange their own ride home.
Why participate in Eagle Hour?
Attending Eagle Hour is one of the best ways to stay on track for success. Students who participate regularly often see stronger grades, higher confidence, and more complete assignments. Participation and active engagement in Eagle Hour also provides additional credit toward class assignments, helping students recover or boost their grades.
