What is the Strive for Five?
Strive for Five is our 9th Grade Academy campaign to ensure that every freshman earns promotion to 10th grade. To be promoted, students must earn credits in English, Math, Science, and Social Studies, along with one additional elective credit.
As Eagles, we aim higher than the minimum. Our goal is for every student to succeed in all of their classes, building the strong academic foundation needed to stay on track for College and Career Readiness determination. To be determined College and Career Ready, students must maintain a 3.00 cumulative G.P.A.
Cumulative GPA is your overall grade point average which combines the final grades from all your classes to show your average performance. For 9th graders, your cumulative GPA starts as soon as you begin high school, and every course you take from now through senior year counts toward it. It’s one of the key indicators colleges and programs use to measure academic achievement over time.
