Students are eligible to apply to be a member of the Spanish Honor Society starting in the Spring of their freshman year or when they are enrolled in at least Level 3. Students who wish to apply should submit an application proving their eligibility and should be prepared to participate in an interview conducted in Spanish.
Every year the Spanish Honor Society at Eleanor Roosevelt offers tutoring to those students who struggle in Spanish, raises money for scholarships and the Spanish-speaking community and promotes awareness of the Spanish language and its cultures.

Our chapter of the Spanish Honor Society is proud to be named after Dolores Huerta, Mexican-American activist who fought alongside Cesar Chavez for the rights of migrant farm workers in the 1960's. Her work inspires our yearly philanthropic endeavors.
