A message from Mrs. Bynum, the Department Chair of World Languages.

Why study a World Language?

Prince George's County Public Schools require students take two years of a World Language in order to graduate. However, we recommend you consider studying beyond the 2 year requirement. Why?

  1. Many colleges require or encourage at least 3 years of a World Language in order to apply.

  2. Studying a World Language helps you perform better on the PSAT and SAT.

  3. It makes you more knowledgeable of your native language.

  4. Multilingual people make an average of $30,000 per year more than their monolingual counterparts since they have more job opportunities and more opportunities for advancement.

  5. It makes travel easier and more enjoyable.

  6. You can become a Global Citizen.
