A message from Mrs. Bynum, the Department Chair of World Languages. Please note that, though I mention Science & Technology students, this information is applicable to all ERHS students.

Why study a World Language?

Prince George's County Public Schools require students take two years of a World Language in order to graduate. However, we recommend you consider studying beyond the 2 year requirement. Why?

Many colleges require or encourage at least 3 years of a World Language in order to apply.
Studying a World Language helps you perform better on the PSAT and SAT.
It makes you more knowledgeable of your native language.
Multilingual people make an average of $30,000 per year more than their monolingual counterparts since they have more job opportunities and more opportunities for advancement.
It makes travel easier and more enjoyable.
You can become a Global Citizen.
