➕ What is the Science and Technology Program?
The Science and Technology Program is a rigorous four-year program designed to prepare students for careers in science, engineering, technology, and mathematics (STEM). The program offers college-level academic experiences, providing students with a strong foundation in STEM disciplines. In addition to developing advanced technical skills, the program emphasizes critical thinking, research, and problem-solving—key competencies that ensure students are well-prepared for the academic challenges of college and beyond.
➕ How do I apply for the S/T program?
If you are a current PGCPS 8th grader no application is necessary. All 8th grade PGCPS students will be considered for the Science and Technology Program as long as they have taken the PSAT 8/9.
All Non-PGCPS 8th and 9th grade students or current 9th grade PGCPS students must apply on the STEM website. The application opens in August and closes in early October. All students must take the PSAT 8/9 to be considered for the program.
➕ When and how will I find out if my student is accepted into the S/T program?
You will receive notification from the PGCPS Testing Office in early March.
➕ What is the purpose of Spring Open House?
The Spring Open House is an event for students that are eligible and waitlisted for the Science and Technology Program. Students and families will learn about the S&T program at Roosevelt.
➕ What is the intent form and why do I need to complete it?
The intent form is used to indicate your plans regarding enrollment at Eleanor Roosevelt High School (ERHS). All students who have been accepted or waitlisted must complete this form. This includes students who do not plan to attend ERHS. On the form, you will have the option to accept your offer, decline it, or indicate that you are still considering other schools.

➕ What is the Summer Bridge program?
The Summer Bridge program is a three week program designed for incoming 9th graders accepted to the Science and Technology program. The program offers students the opportunity to interact with teachers and students, helping them acclimate to the new school environment. Students will engage in educational activities and complete a STEM focused challenge. All incoming 9th graders are expected to participate in the program.
➕ If I am not accepted into the S/T program as a freshman, is there another opportunity for me to gain acceptance into the program?
Yes. You can apply for entry into the program as a 9th grader. The same criteria is used to determine acceptance. Students can retake the PSAT 8/9 to attmpet a higher score. The unweighted core GPA along with the PSAT 8/9 score will be used to calculate the total score. There are a limited number of spots available for rising 10th graders.
