The Science and Technology (S/T) Program at Eleanor Roosevelt High School has been in existence since 1976. Every year the program admits roughly 250 scholars to its freshmen class. Although this program is one of three Science and Technology Programs in Prince George's County Public Schools, it is by far the largest. With a vast array of course offerings, including Advanced Placement courses, research experiences, internships, dual enrollment opportunities at colleges/universities, and mentorship, our scholars graduate fully prepared to become productive and leading professionals in the STEM community.
The foundation of the Science and Technology Program is the signature research process, which is the research practicum (RP). The development of the research practicum starts in the scholar's junior year and culminates in the senior year with a STEM-focused project, and a five-chapter research paper, similar to a master's thesis. Our scholars showcase their research and findings at an annual senior research symposium.
