Families affected by furloughs or other employment changes are encouraged to apply or reapply for Free and Reduced-Price Meals (FARMS) at any time during the school year! Even if your child attends a CEP school and already receives free meals, submitting a FARMS application may provide additional support and resources for your household.
HUGE congratulations to AHS for once again earning a five-star rating on the Maryland Report Card!
This stellar achievement is a powerful testament to the extraordinary hard work and unwavering dedication of all stakeholders to our students' success. This rating reflects the excellence of our academic programs and the incredible work of our students.
Please take a moment to celebrate this collective success—share a moment of pride with a colleague, thank our parents for their partnership, and, tell our students thank you and congratulations—their efforts matter! You are the reason we shine!

Dear Students, Parents, Guardians, and Staff,
I am writing to reinforce a core value of our school community: We do not tolerate bullying of any kind. Every individual within our school deserves to feel safe, valued, and respected.
I want to be perfectly clear: We take these matters extremely seriously and will address all reported incidents promptly and according to our established school policies. Actions of retaliation against anyone who reports an incident will also be taken seriously and will result in disciplinary action. Furthermore, any disruption to the school community is a violation of the PGCPS Code of Conduct and will result in disciplinary action. It is imperative that we all commit to treating each other with kindness, empathy, and respect at all times.
Digital Citizenship and School Policy
This commitment extends to our actions both within the school walls and in the digital world.
Regarding Cell Phone Use and Digital Privacy:
To help maintain a focused and respectful environment and prevent digital disruption, please be reminded of our policy: Cell phones are not allowed to be used during the school day unless under the direct instruction of a teacher for instructional purposes only.
Posting information, images, or videos of others online without their explicit consent is a serious matter. It is a violation of their privacy and personal rights and is unacceptable. Digital actions have real-world consequences and can cause significant harm to an individual’s reputation and well-being.
Our Shared Responsibility
I want to express my sincere gratitude and pride for the students and community members who have demonstrated courage and integrity by reporting instances of bullying or inappropriate behavior. Your actions are vital in maintaining a safe environment for everyone.
It is the responsibility of every member of this community to:
Protect each other from harm and distress.
Protect our individual reputations and the reputations of our peers.
Protect our school's reputation as a place of learning, respect, and safety.
We encourage everyone to continue speaking up. If you see something, say something. Please report any concerns to a teacher, counselor, or administrator immediately.
Thank you for your partnership in making our school a supportive and respectful place for all.
Sincerely,
Andria Nungesser
Principal
