THE COURSES
Donald Ross’ masterpiece, No. 2 at Pinehurst, has served as the site of more single golf championships than any other course in America, also hosting back-to-back U.S. Open and U.S. Women’s Open Championships in 2014 and recently the 2024 U.S. Open. No. 2’s iconic sloped turtleback greens and wide fairways with native wiregrass and sand make this course a central part of any Pinehurst visit. When you walk this course, you walk in the footsteps of legends.
Visually stunning from tee to green, No. 4 was created by Gil Hanse in the timeless tradition of golf in the North Carolina Sandhills. After its redesign in 2018, No. 4 was voted “Best New Course” and a “Top 100 Course,” and was chosen to host the 2019 U.S. Amateur. The rolling topography and dramatic vistas make it one of the most breathtaking courses at Pinehurst.
In 1961, Ellis Maples, who studied course design at the side of Donald Ross, adopted his mentor’s mentality of finding the course that lies in the landscape as it already exists, resulting in the spectacular No. 5 course. Known for its par-3 14th hole, bestowed the saintly nickname Cathedral Hole, this course features stunning lake views and picturesque pines.

For over a century, the “Queen of the South” has welcomed guests to Pinehurst. Come stroll across the hotel’s spacious verandas and into one of 230 Four-Diamond rooms and suites which, along with its grand lobby, have been newly renovated. The Carolina Dining Room, home to the best breakfast in golf, continues to tempt the palate of every guest, while the new Coffee House located in the lobby serves up quick bites and freshly brewed java. This cornerstone of Pinehurst also offers a heated pool complex, putting green on its West Lawn and two retail outlets for your shopping needs.
A year-long renovation completed in 2019 has transformed the historic Manor, originally opened in 1923, into a contemporary hotel wrapped in classic charm. Beyond the communal lobby lie well-appointed guest rooms waiting to immerse guests in comfort, as well as two private hospitality suites that can be reserved for golf groups of up to 20 and make an ideal place to celebrate a successful round on one of the Pinehurst courses. The North & South Bar offers a wide selection of fine whiskeys and cocktails, while just outside, Pinehurst Brewing Co. pours craft beer brewed on site. The Village of Pinehurst is also just a short walk away, making The Manor as convenient as it is memorable.

From the Airport to the Championship Venue:
The most convenient way to fly into Pinehurst is via Raleigh-Durham International (RDU). The resort offers Airport Shuttle Service to RDU available during peak hours. Please note that ride share services are very limited from Pinehurst to RDU.
Top of the hour Pick Up at RDU:
7 a.m. to 9 p.m., $100 per person one-way
Top of the hour departure from The Carolina Hotel:
5 a.m. to 7 p.m., $100 per person one-way

Airport Shuttle Policy: Top-of-the-hour Airport Shuttle Service operates on a reservation basis only during peak hours indicated. Private airport transportation is available during off-peak hours. Please provide 72 hours advance notice to guarantee a reservation. Full rate applies to day-of-travel cancellations or no-shows.
If your arrival is delayed, please call 910.235.8465 to check availability of service for your new arrival time. If the resort does not have service available to coincide with your new arrival time, at your request, Pinehurst will provide names and phone numbers of other services that provide transportation from RDU to Pinehurst Resort. All charges associated with delays, including but not limited to cancellations, no shows, airport shuttle changes or alternate transportation service, are at the expense of the traveler.
Private Airport Transportation is available from Raleigh Durham (RDU), Fayetteville (FAY) or Greensboro (GSO) airports at the following rates:
1-2 passengers, $350 plus 18% gratuity | Each additional passenger, $125 plus 18% gratuity
Private Shuttle Policy: Please provide 24 hours advance notice for cancellations. Day-of-travel cancellations including no shows incur full rate charge. Should your arrival be delayed, please notify Pinehurst immediately at 910.235.8465. If you are delayed more than one hour beyond your reserved pick up time, a wait time fee of $50 per hour will apply.

From Moore County Airport (KSOP)
Private planes often route through Moore County Airport (KSOP), just a short 15-minute drive from the resort, is the “Gateway to the Home of American Golf.” The premier general aviation jetport welcomes pilots and passengers to a destination that is rich in history, tradition, and true southern hospitality. The airport offers a full range of amenities and services for private aircraft, and provides flight training, aircraft maintenance and charter flight services. The airfield is open 24/7 and airport terminal operating hours are 8:00am to 8:00pm. The current runway is 6502 feet long and is 150 feet wide, accommodating aircraft sizes up to a Boeing 737.

1 or 2 passengers, $80 plus 18% gratuity

Reservations for all airport services require 72 hours advance notice to ensure availability.
On-Site Transportation from the Hotel:
Once you’ve gotten to Pinehurst, you’ll find that getting settled and getting around are both simple and convenient. Parking is plentiful, and many find that once they’ve parked their vehicle…that’s where it stays until it’s time to depart. A fleet of on-call shuttles waits to shuffle you off to wherever it is you’d like to go, servicing all of Pinehurst’s facilities. Pick-up time averages just 15 minutes, so call ahead and by the time you’ve paid your check at one of the restaurants on property or come downstairs from your room, the staff at Pinehurst will be waiting to take you anywhere you’d like to go. Please note that ride share options such as Uber and Lyft are extremely limited in the Pinehurst area.
