Title: Director of Instruction/Player Development
Reports to: Director of Golf
Supervises: 2 teaching professionals
Key Criteria: The Director of Instruction/Player Development will fulfill the responsibilities listed in the essential job functions. Key areas of focus will be individual instruction, technology, group instruction, junior community, and gender-specific instruction. The leading candidate should have extensive knowledge and experience within these areas.
Four essential areas to be accomplished:
Ability to develop a strong all-encompassing instruction program for juniors and adults
Can develop staff through guest instructors and mentorship in the next 12-18 months
Can provide meaningful input and guidance on range project design and improvements
Can enhance technology to maximize the member experience in the next 12-18 months
Design, lead, and oversee a full-service golf instruction program for players of all levels including but not limited to: beginners, juniors, women, seniors, low handicap golfers, and special populations.
Hire, train, supervise, and mentor golf professionals in state-of-the-art player development techniques, teaching philosophies and programs, and club fitting.
Establish, model, and maintain standards of instruction for lessons, clinics, camps, and programs. Determine appropriate instructional aids and training equipment needed for an effective development program.
Oversee scheduling and use of practice facilities including the Learning Center, range, and putting green.
Responsible for departmental budget and scheduling staff.
High-profile member contact position. Must be visible, approachable, and service-minded with members, guests, and staff on a regular basis.
Design content club articles, website, and email marketing. Ensure timely subimttal, including but not limited to marketing and promotional materials for all instructional programming, “Tips from the Pros”.
Capture monthly instructional data. Report utilization of instructors and programs to the Director of Golf.
As schedule permits, play golf with the Club membership.
Provide assistance and service to members and guests during Club golf events.
Ensure the Learning Center and teaching equipment are well maintained.
Represent The Club in local, sectional, and national events.
Abides by all federal, state, and local laws and regulations, policies and procedures, Bylaws, House Rules.
Regular attendance is required based on business expectations and needs.
Any other duties as assigned and/or requested by Club management.

Commitment to Club Values
Including, but not limited to, the following:
Class A PGA/LPGA Golf Professional.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Education, or related field preferred.
3 years of experience in player development and instruction in a golf facility setting, including design and implementation of an instructional program for players of all levels.
Demonstrated ability to be a role model, lead people, and get results through others. Ability to plan, organize, and lead a successful player development program.
Above average playing ability preferred.
Management- the ability to successfully manage, motivate staff, and meet performance objectives.
Problem analysis and problem resolution at both strategic and functional levels.
Fluent English oral and written communication skills.
Solid business writing skills.
Working knowledge of MS Office, Outlook, tee time reservations software, and golf instructional programs.
Willing to obtain First Aid/CPR certification within 90 days of employment.
Compensation includes a base pay of $50,000 - $60,000 plus 70% of lesson revenue. The club offers an attractive benefits package to the successful candidate.
