Available for PfISD students beginning their sophomore year
Dear Students,
Welcome to the Pflugerville Academic and Career Education program. It is my mission that PACE be a positive, life changing experience for every student we serve. We have a long, proud history of making positive changes in young adults. We focus on growing a student academically, socially, emotionally, physically and in character.
For this to work, students must commit to all parts of the program and commit to be a stronger, interdependent person. If you are looking for an easy way to get around standards, this is not the place for you. We build people. That takes effort. Effort from the parents, staff and the student.
You will be hard pressed to find a more passionate, innovative and dedicated staff. If you want to move forward in your life, you’re not afraid to try, you’re not afraid of hard work and you want to become someone whom you and the people who care about you can be proud, this is your school.
Welcome to PACE
Mike Harvey
Proud Principal
Pflugerville Academic and Career Education
The Pflugerville Academic and Career Education (PACE) program is a full-time high school diploma program for students who have dropped out of high school or who are highly at risk for such reasons as being over age for grade level, pregnancy, and parenting.
Students are not enrolled directly in to PACE. Students who move into the district but have not attended a PfISD high school must still obtain a PACE application and approval from the counselor or assistant principal at the high school they would attend based on residence. All referrals to the PACE Program must come from the student’s home high school counselor or assistant principal.
PACE students must:
adhere to PACE behavior standards as outlined in the PACE and District's Rules and Procedures including PACE’s dress policy
limit absences to no more than four (4) per semester and make up time for any excused absences exceeding the four allowed (Excessive unexcused absences will be filed on for truancy and can result in the student being dismissed from PACE)
complete all graduation requirements within projected time unless extenuating circumstances dictate an extension
meet TEA standards on End of Course STAAR Tests
An agreement to abide by program requirements and guidelines must be signed by all student participants and parent/guardian before student enters the program.
Interested students should contact their High School Counseling Department.
