We hope to develop the culture of enquiry at Peter Lea through continued participation in the National Professional Enquiry Project, and by engaging a wider number of staff in the process. This may be achieved through running a similar enquiry again to establish a shared understanding of blended learning at whole-school level. Alternatively, this might be achieved by encouraging and supporting this year’s participants to lead their own enquiry which could explore an area of blended learning which they are most interested in, for example, how blended learning might be developed differently in Key Stage 2 compared to Foundation Phase.
Furthermore, as mentioned previously, staff at Peter Lea have continued to engage in professional discussions in small groups as part of our work towards Curriculum for Wales 2022. These informal focus groups allow staff to work with colleagues from different phases and in different roles to read literature or watch videos and use them as a stimulus to discuss key questions, generate ideas, identify challenges and develop solutions related to our school-level curriculum. This approach has been successful so far and will continue throughout our work, either via Microsoft Teams or face-to-face as operational requirements allow. It is hoped that, by viewing these discussions through the lens of professional enquiry, staff at Peter Lea will recognise that enquiry can be hugely beneficial and not as daunting as it may first appear.
