How do I save a file to a flash drive that has been provided by the School District?

Students in grades 6-12 that do not have consistent internet access from home will be provided a "USB Drive" with assignments. These assignments will be fillable PDFs. A student will go through the following steps to access the assignment, complete it, and download the completed work back to the USB.

  1. Open the USB Drive by clicking on the small circle in the lower-left corner of the Chromebook screen. When the window opens, select "files". The USB Drive will be an option on the left of the screen.

  2. Open the assignment by "double-clicking"

  3. Complete the necessary work

  4. Click the download arrow in the upper right corner of the pdf (it should be to the left of the printer icon)

  5. Make sure the USB Drive is selected on the left of the screen

  6. Rename the file on the line near the bottom of the box. The student should probably add their name to the original name of the file. Click Save. (The file will not be available on the USB Drive)

What if I am struggling to sign in to Naviance?

Remember to select Naviance from the Google Waffle menu. There will be two identical icons, but one will say "Naviance for Staff". Do not select the Staff Icon. In some situations, shutting down and restarting the Chromebook has solved some of the login issues. If your struggles continue please email Mr. Damiani at ndamiani@perucsd.org
