Edison's Pause Lab
Edison’s lab is located on the first floor in the center of the 8th grade hallway. The lab is usually open 5 days a week and monitored by counselors and/or trained interns. If the lab is being utilized for group work or a special activity the building staff is notified of lab closures.
All students create their HeartMath accounts and are oriented to the lab early in the school year. The lab is available to all students and staff.
Panther Pause Lab Student Procedures
Step 1: Sign in at the front desk and pick up a blue coherence card.
Step 2: Log in to account on Heartmath.
Step 3: Complete a breathing session in Heartmath. Record your coherence numbers on your coherence card.
Step 4: Choose a calming station (Art, Sensory, Nature, Journaling)
Step 5: Complete a second breathing session in Heartmath. Record your coherence number on your coherence card.
Step 6: Sign-Out with lab monitor
