Our Choir and Theatre programs are a great way for students to get involved in music at PTHS. Opportunities include Concert Choir, a non-auditioned curricular ensemble that meets during the school day, as well as extracurricular activities. Extracurricular activities include Nocktaves, our auditioned, competitive A Cappella Ensemble, the Fall Children's Musical, the Winter Play, and the Spring Musical.
Be sure to come see our 2026 Spring Musical, The Addams Family, April 23-25th!

Concert Choir is a curricular class that meets during the school day and performs a variety of vocal repertoire. All students in grade 9 - 12 are eligible to join. Rehearsals take place daily for the full school year. Concert Choir involves various exciting performance opportunities, such as school concerts, and state festivals, and participates in the Music Department Spring Trip.
Reach out to Ms. Granholm and/or your Guidance Counselor to add Concert Choir to your schedule!
Nocktaves is PTHS' auditioned, competitive A Cappella ensemble that meets twice a week after school. They perform in school concerts, at local events, and in competition. They have been successful throughout competitions such as the International Championship of High School A Cappella (ICHSA) hosted by Varsity Vocals.
Recently, Nocktaves received 3rd place at the 2024 ICHSA Mid-Atlantic Quarterfinals!
Auditions are held in June for the following school year.
The Spring Musical is an extracurricular activity that rehearses and performs a full-length musical at PTHS. Students in grades 9 - 12 are eligible to audition. Auditions are held in late January with rehearsals 4-5 days per week. Performances are in late April/early May.
Check out the Musical Handbook linked at the top of this page for information about our 2026 Spring Show: The Addams Family!!!
The Fall Children’s Musical is produced and directed entirely by students. Auditions for this production are open to any student and take place in late September. The cast of this show goes on a tour to all Pequannock elementary schools to present the musical to young audiences. There is also “Friends & Family” performance at the high school.
The Winter Play is an extracurricular activity open to students in grades 9-12. Auditions are held in November. Rehearsals are after school two days per week and Saturday mornings. Performances are in January. The Winter Play is dialogue-based, rather than song-based, so it is a great opportunity for students who want to act but may be less comfortable singing and dancing on stage.
Ms. Granholm is so excited to join Pequannock's music faculty this year! She is a recent graduate of The College of New Jersey, where she majored in Vocal Music Education, as well as studied choral conducting and vocal arranging.
