PHYSICIANS
Center for Sports Medicine
At the Center for Sports Medicine, our specialists work with you to help you get back to the activities you enjoy. Sports medicine specialists have additional training to diagnose and treat patients, helping to restore function whether injured from sports, weekend activities or everyday life. They see and treat patients of all activity levels and ages. Most injuries don’t require surgery. A sports medicine physician will work with you to assess your injury and any testing or treatment needed. You don’t have to be a professional athlete to see a sports medicine specialist. There are many reasons you may want to schedule an appointment at the Center for Sports Medicine. Common injuries include sprains, strains, arthritis, concussion, etc. Our physicians will work with you to design the most appropriate treatment plan to help you return to your activities. Treatment can include options such as, braces, pain relievers, injections and physical therapy. Your physician will also be able to advise you on ways to prevent injury through exercising, nutrition, and conditioning. Sports medicine specialists are key to helping maximize function and minimize disability and time away from sports, work, or school.
The Independence Health System Sports Concussion Program is proud to be a credentialed ImPACT® Consultant and leader in sports concussion management with Drs. Bryan Lee and Andrew Schleihauf, along with our orthopedic specialists, physician assistants, nurses and a sports nutritionist.
To aid in the continued health and well-being of our youth, we offer a state of the art concussion program designed to not just provide the treatment of concussions, but to reduce the risk of concussion while keeping people active and involved. The focus of our Sports Concussion Program is to educate and assist athletes, parents and coaches in the proper identification and management of concussions.
Because All Concussions Are Serious Every student athlete should have a Baseline ImPACT® Test.
We recommend:
A baseline for students, ages 10 and older, who are involved in school or club sports.
Available through The Independence Health System Center for Concussion Care.
The 20 minute test measures verbal and visual memory, reaction time, visual motor speed and impulse control.
ImPACT® is not a stand alone test in determining concussion recovery or return to play. Independence Health System has a comprehensive, state-of-the-art concussion evaluation and management program. Having a valid baseline ImPACT® test is a first step in keeping our athletes safe. To schedule a baseline ImPACT® test, call 724-689-1070. Be sure to mention Baseline Testing when calling. This is different than a standard concussion appointment.

I have the distinct privilege to be entrusted with the musculoskeletal care of people of many different ages and orthopedic problems. I attempt to provide patients with the most up-to-date evidenced medicine possible. I will listen to the patient and the family to accurately asses the patient's condition. I also incorporate the patient in the decision-making process by encouraging them to be an active participant in their treatment plan. I do this by providing and explaining the treatment options so we can come to an agreement on a plan together. When dealing with an athlete, I try to get them back to participating in their sport of choice as quickly and as safely as possible.

It is a privilege to see individuals of many different ages for their musculoskeletal complaints. Sports Medicine has always been a passion of mine, and I try to provide the most up-to-date options and care available. Since I have grown up in the area, it has been a pleasure working with the primary care providers and athletic trainers in the community to attempt to keep individuals active.

As an orthopedic surgeon, I strive to provide comprehensive and skilled care to every patient that enters my office. I treat all age groups; from athletes injured on the field, laborers with chronic shoulder pain, to grandparents with painful knees. Specializing in Sports Medicine means that I utilize conservative interventions as well as advanced surgical techniques. My goal is to provide every patient with accurate insight into their condition. While working together, this effort allows each patient to choose a treatment plan that best meets their needs. By taking time to educate my patients, I hope that every person leaves with a better understanding and a path towards improvement and restored function.
Dr. Erdos has been the Orthopedic Surgeon for Penn-Trafford athletes for 10+ years. She has consistently provided athletes with positive surgical outcomes to get them back in the game.

I am humbled by the trust of patients who seek my guidance to care for their upper extremity problems. In turn, I am honest about my ability or inability to cure or improve what bothers them. Our relationship is a partnership in which I clearly state my part and then set expectations for what my patients can do to help themselves. I pride myself on sound decision-making, effective communication, and technical expertise to deliver high quality care in an individualized manner. Although medicine is an imperfect science, I strive to provide my patients with an overall satisfying experience. The highest complement is to have a patient recommend me to someone they love.

It is my goal to provide the least invasive personalized treatment appropriate for each patient's condition and lifestyle. Whether an elite athlete or the weekend warrior, I want to get them back to the activities they love as quickly and as safely as possible. All treatment plans are individually created and discussed, utilizing the most effective and clinically proven orthopedic techniques. I believe it is important to listen closely to patients and to treat the whole person, not just the problem or disease.

As an Orthopedic Surgeon, my goal is to improve the quality of life of every patient I treat, whether they are returning to high-level sports or simply being able to leave the house without the use of a cane or a walker. I was fortunate enough to have received excellent orthopedic training, starting with five years learning under some of the best orthopedic surgeons in the country at Pitt during residency. My fellowship year in Sports Medicine and arthroscopy honed my skills in the surgical treatment of shoulder and knee injuries. Although I have extensive surgical training, the treatment I provide for my patients is no different from what I would want for my own children, wife, or parents.

I feel incredibly blessed that I have been living my dream as I have been delivering orthopedic care to my friends, family, and my hometown community for over 20 years. I strive and will continue to strive to provide compassionate and the highest quality orthopedic care to my community. If I feel I cannot provide my patients with absolutely the best care for their condition, I will refer the patient to another physician who can. The patient always comes first, and I believe your orthopedic care should be driven by what is best for the patient-- NOT what is best for the physician, staff, hospital, or insurance company.
