At the Center for Sports Medicine, our specialists work with you to help you get back to the activities you enjoy. Sports medicine specialists have additional training to diagnose and treat patients, helping to restore function whether injured from sports, weekend activities or everyday life. They see and treat patients of all activity levels and ages.
The Independence Health System Sports Concussion Program is proud to be a credentialed ImPACT® Consultant and leader in sports concussion management with Drs. Alexander Fleming, Bryan Lee and Andrew Schleihauf.
We utilize:
~The ImPACT™ neurocognitive assessment tool
~Force plate balance technology
~Dynavision gross motor testing
~RightEye NeuroVision

The Independence Health System Orthopedics Institute
Urgent orthopedic care for fractures and injuries are treated by fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeons specializing in reconstructive surgery, neurosurgery, hand surgery, and foot and ankle surgery.
Please contact the Athletic Trainers if you would like to utilize these services. Priority scheduling is offered to Penn-Trafford Athletes.

Our certified athletic trainers work with local high schools and colleges to help with both injury prevention and on-the-spot attention when something occurs on the field. As allied health professionals, our certified athletic trainers specialize in the prevention, assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of muscle and bone injuries and illnesses. They are one of the first health care providers on the scene when injuries occur.

Developing a trusting, professional relationships with your primary care provider of the utmost importance. At Independence Health System, our primary care providers follow the “Patient-Centered Medical Home” model. This means they value care coordination and communication just as you would. Your well-being is at the center of all they do. They will direct your care toward specialists or other services, if needed, and help you manage your overall health and wellness.
