During school, athletes must have a 6th, 7th or 8th period study hall in order to come to the Athletic Training Office for treatments or when their sport is dismissed by the Athletic Office on game days.
✅ Appointments can be made via email requests to the ATs including: period for treatment request, study hall teacher, and reason for request.
Saturdays: 30 mins prior to scheduled HOME HIGH SCHOOL events, No on-site AT coverage for practice(s).
Sundays: NO ON-SITE ATHLETIC TRAINING SERVICES AVAILABLE
Holidays: No Availability--Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day, Good Friday/Sat, Memorial Day, & 4th of July.
*When school is closed for break, the Athletic Trainers are not on-site but are available by email for any healthcare needs.
Athletic Trainers are usually available at least 30 minutes before a scheduled high school practice, event, or event departure* for athletic training services.
*If an athlete needs the services of the Away Athletic Trainer please let us know so we can contact them in advance to ensure availability/arrangements are made for our athletes and to send supplies.
Athletic Trainers are not available on a daily basis during the summer months. Please contact the staff via email if you have any concerns. Thank you

Emergencies can happen at any time with sports participation. Coaches are encouraged to review the documents below and become familiar with the procedure for the specific venue(s) that you will practice and/or compete at in the event that an Athletic Trainer is not able to be present on-site or if you are needed to assist the Athletic Trainer in the event of a serious injury. KNOW YOUR ROLE in the EAP
There are only 2 ATs for the 2023-24 season, so we cannot be everywhere and at every practice/competition...Please call if we are not there and we can help provide guidance for non-emergencies...remember you have all done the PIAA Sports First Aid course and the ConcussionWise/CardiacWise courses so use your knowledge when applicable...when in doubt call 9-1-1
Emergency Action Plan (EAP)
Injury information can be emailed or texted to BOTH Athletic Trainers and should include:
Athlete's name
possible injury site (i.e. ankle, head, etc)
any other pertinent information (i.e. host AT evaluation, EMS transport, parents present, etc)
PIAA Sports First Aid/Principles of Coaching Class (see Mr. Hetrick for more information)
CPR/AED Certification is RECOMMENDED & encouraged--See Nurse Popovich for sign-ups
Metal Crutches (any sizes)
Knee immobilizers/braces
Ankle walking boots
Wrist splints/braces
Ankle AirCasts
Slings
Please drop any donations off to the Athletic Office at the High School during normal school hours or contact the athletic trainers at 724-744-0580 to schedule a time. YOUR DONATIONS ARE MUCH APPRECIATED!!!!
COVID-19 Information
Athlete should refer to the Report to School Flow Chart and utilize it for Report to Sports criteria.
All potential exposures and/or positive cases should be reported to Nurse Popovich at popovichl@penntrafford.org immediately.
