Symphonic Orchestra

With questions regarding your child who is enrolled in Symphonic Orchestra, please reach out to Mrs. Hebenstreit.

The Symphonic Orchestra is one of two curricular orchestras at Pennsbury High School and is the flagship curricular orchestra of the Pennsbury School District. Membership is determined by audition in the previous school year.  The Symphonic  Orchestra is designed for 10th, 11th and 12th grade violin, viola, cello, string bass, and harp students who wish to develop their ability to perform instrumental music.  Included are studies of instrumental technique, music reading, expressive playing, critical listening, diverse instrumental literature, and performance skills.   Students are required to attend two lesson per quarter and all performances are mandatory.  Lessons are scheduled on a rotating basis to minimize interference with other subjects.  Membership in the Concert Orchestra is a prerequisite for participation in the Bucks County Youth Orchestra, The Pennsylvania Music Educators’ District, Region, State and National Music Festivals, The Pennsbury Marching Band, Jazz Ensemble, and Concert Jazz Band.
