This STEM course introduces students to the world of robotics. Students apply scientific knowledge and principles to challenges that require them to design, construct, implement and test their proposed solutions. Topics include motor control, gear ratios, torque, friction, sensors, timing program loops, simple machines, basic electronic theory/circuits, circuit board assembly, basic robot operation, GUI based programming and problem solving skills using the VEX V5 robotics system. Students will work in groups to design, build and program robots.
This STEM course enhances students' knowledge of robotics systems. Students apply scientific knowledge and principles to challenges that require them to design, construct, implement and test their proposed solutions. Topics include motor control, gear ratios, torque, friction, sensors, timing program loops, simple machines, basic electronic theory/circuits, circuit board assembly, basic robot operation, Text based programming and problem solving skills. Students will learn machine control through electromechanical problem solving challenges using the VEX V5 robotics system and codable drones. Students will research and develop a robotic system capstone project. Students will work in groups to design, build and program robots.
