Classroom Rules and Resources

Art Class Expectations

Respect Each Other

It's important to show respect to each other and the teacher in art class! Say kind things about each other's art, keep your hands and feet to yourself, and help your classmates out. If someone is talking, including the teacher, be sure to let them speak and wait for your turn if you have something to add.

Respect the Classroom

Just like we have to respect people, we also have to respect physical items and spaces. Take care of the art supplies, use them correctly, and keep them organized. Clean up before you leave class. Walk and use your inside voice in order to keep our classroom safe and comfortable!

Respect Ourselves

Being kind and respectful towards yourself is just as important as being kind and respectful to others! Even if your art isn't turning out how you expected it to, practice saying phrases like "Next time I can try _____!" or "That's okay! I learned a lot by doing this." Keep a positive attitude, and understand that all art has value.

Stay On-Task

Students are expected to work on art the entire time they're in class. The task for the day will always be displayed on the board. Once you're done with your task for the day (and only once you are done), you may do free art by drawing or doing a coloring page. If you have your iPad in class, you may also go to Google Classroom or Seesaw to follow the link to my free art website!

How to Turn In Artwork

All art projects completed in class must be turned in if they're going in the gradebook. Art is only turned in if it is digitally uploaded to Artsonia. Use your iPad in art class to log in with my class code, take a nice, clear picture of your art, and upload it with an artist statement!

K-2: Seesaw

Kindergarteners, first graders, and second graders will have access to my links in their Seesaw account. This includes free art links, sub plans, and virtual learning tasks!

3-8: Google Classroom

3rd-8th graders should keep an eye on their art Google Classroom page for my free art links, access to slides, sub plans, and virtual learning tasks. Occasionally, you may be asked to turn in worksheets or other assignments on Google Classroom instead of Artsonia.
