Voice Volume Scales

Voice Volume Visual scales can be a very effective strategy to help students regulate their voice volume in different settings and activities. They can be referenced visually (pointing or with a clip next to the expected volume) or verbally (ex. "This is a work time, our voices should be at a "2".)  Another great voice volume reminder is to play soft music while students are working. If voices get too loud, remind students that they should be able to hear the music over their voices or it is too loud.

My Voice Volume Scale

This scale can be used class wide or for individual students who struggle with self-regulating their voice volume across settings.

The larger scale is ideal for whole class reminders & the smaller scale can be used on individual student's desks for non-verbal (pointing) reminders.

These visuals are ideal for letting students know when it's an appropriate time to "talk" or when they should hold their thoughts in their "thought bubble" for later. These can be used individually or whole group.
