ROAR Recognition
Acknowledging Expected Behaviors
Tiger Points are given when students are demonstrating expected behaviors by following ROAR Expectations.
Tiger Points - Tickets are awarded to students in Class Dojo. At the end of each week, grade level points are added up and classes earning 1000 Tiger Points are awarded an extra 30 minutes of outdoor recess. Once 25,000 Tiger Points are earned as a whole school, a radio call in trivia contest is held to celebrate.
Staff members are also encouraged to recognize classroom behaviors and offer student or classroom incentives. Some ideas are listed below:
Good call home to parents from the teacher
Technology time
Lunch with teacher
Brain break with teacher
Choice of classroom game (7UP, Sparkle, etc.)
PJ Day - students can wear pajamas to school for the day
Dance Party Day - students can receive a 20 minute dance party during the day
Stinky Feet Day - students do not have to wear shoes in the classroom
Desk Swap - students can choose their seat for one day/subject
Stuffed Animal - the toy must be smaller than a shoebox and can remain on the student’s desk throughout the day
Use Markers Today - students can use crayons or markers on all assignments for a day (except assessments)
Wear a hat to class - students may wear a hat during class
Popcorn/Movie Day - students can watch a movie and eat popcorn
Classroom Helpers - students can go to a class in a younger grade level to help the students with an activity (must be arranged with the other teacher)
Show & Tell Day - each student can bring in a small item to share with the class.
Snow Day - students can play in the snow (students would need to bring in appropriate clothing/boots)

Tiger Tag necklaces will be presented to students at the beginning of the school by Mrs. Johnson during an introduction lesson on belonging.
Monthly Characters are defined and students displaying traits are presented with a PAW.
PAWS will begin to be collected starting middle of September.
Assigned students will collect them from your classroom in the morning.
Please have them outside your classroom or in a designated place for the students to find them. The same students will be assigned to your rooms.
PAWS will be announced during lunches on Wednesday.
During lunch on Wednesday, students will have an opportunity to display their PAW on the Principal’s 100 Board.
When there are 10 in a row on the board, those 10 students spin the prize wheel for individual incentives.

Pick a Prize Coupon
Gaming Room - Pick 2 friends to play the Wii
At the end of each month, students will also receive the designated Character bead to acknowledge their PAWS-itive Traits.
