PelotonU student Valeria Martinez Garcia offers advice on giving yourself grace and compassion!
College will increase the demands on your time, and sometimes it will be stressful. Did you know you already have everything you need inside of you to do this thing?
This week's theme is "self-care." The following activities will have you reflect on who you are, what your goals are, and which strategies can help you manage the inevitable stress that comes with balancing school and life.
Make sure to complete ALL of the activities on the to-do list below: each activity supports another one, and they all support YOU!
"My self-care advice is to not over think. If you feel drained take a break that will allow you to regroup. Always do your best and Reward yourself for those small accomplishments. They matter too."

We see you! You're working hard! Keep track of the hours you spend on any school task using our Virtual Study Log! Remember, you cannot see what you've already submitted, so log hours each day you work on school or have a meeting with your Coach/AOL, OR keep track of your hours on paper and log everything retroactively on Sundays.
Need a reminder for how to work the study log? Check out our video tutorial!
(this assignment is due before your 1st meeting of this week!)
A VISION board (example) is an extremely powerful tool that creates alignment between actions and goals. You’ve not only got to dream it, but you must also learn about yourself and allow yourself to create it. The final product will be YOUR VISION Board which will lay the groundwork for the relationship you will build with your coach since they will be your accountability partner throughout your degree journey!
Part 1: Me and My Drive?
Before you create YOUR VISION Board, complete the Myers-Briggs Personality Test online to learn more about yourself.
After receiving your results, open your Student Tracker (use these instructions, if you don't have one yet).
Locate the tab called Part 1: Me and My Drive and answer each reflection question in complete sentences in this tab.
Part 2: My Vision
Next, on your Student Tracker, go to the tab called Part 2: My Vision
Read the directions and answer each section of this tab in complete sentences. Your responses will help you brainstorm, engage with, and unpack your answers to create your Vision Board.
Part 3: My VISION Board
Finally, on your Student Tracker, go to the tab called Part 3: My Vision Board
Create YOUR VISION board! (example)
As you work on your VISION board, select words, pictures, colors, and themes that bring your dreams to life. When you look at these images, they will represent WHY you’re on this journey and what’s most important to you. This visual will serve as your compass back to YOU and YOUR Journey.
Think of big-picture goals, either something you want to reach in 6 months—1 year (Small goals) or 2-5 years (Long Goals).
You can copy/paste images from Google and/or upload an image from your computer. (example)
Don’t forget to SUBMIT your tracker using the link below.
This is your opportunity to dream big, do all the research, and ask lots of questions about how your degree fits into your life. You may have every step of the next 5 years planned already, or you may be thinking, “I don’t know IF I know!” Either—and anything in between—is okay! You will continue to discuss these with your Coach as needed, but this is the place to start that discussion.
Things to Note:
SNHU Project Prep: Good news! If you are a student pursuing your AA degree, this assignment will help you prepare for your first SNHU project this week, “Identity and Values.” If you are a student pursuing your BA degree, this assignment will help you prepare for your first SNHU project this week, “Develop as a Leader.”
Helpful Tip: Download Grammarly! This FREE online writing assistant can be added as an extension to your Google Chrome. It will automatically check your grammar and spelling, giving you one less thing to worry about as you move through your schoolwork!
WATCH videos in your Accenture modules. Have you ever felt stressed? This week's Accenture Learning Modules are called "The Thriving Mind" and it's about understanding that you have more power than you realize to build mental resilience by taking care of your mind, just as you do your body which will be an important thing to remember as you add school onto your plate of responsibilities. (NOTE: You do not need to download the workbook; just watch the videos!)
***Tech Check: Use this document to check your browser settings when you first log in so all course modules work correctly.
