Things to know

Groups of Joeys and Cubs will be required to have at least one Adult to accompany each patrol. Patrols must be in groups of seven people (including Adults in that number). Adult participants will be required to accompany their patrol at all times—including in the tunnels.

It is up to Scout Leaders to determine if their Scouts are sufficiently responsible enough to move around the heritage site unsupervised, and access the internet unsupervised; or if they need an adult to accompany them. In each time slot, forty-nine people are able to be taking part in activities. When you register, you will be grouped in sevens. If you do not have a full seven, your numbers may be made up by participants from other groups.

Use the sign up to book. Bookings are not confirmed until the google form is completed. For Joeys and Cubs, the google form requires all your participants to be listed by name—an adult name, and six youth names. These groupings are not fixed, through this process, but are indicative. On the day, you will be asked to provide us with the actual groupings you use, to assist with contact tracing (and follow-up in case of reports of problematic content).

The organiser of each group must come to Base HQ at least 30 minutes prior to your appointed start time, for a short briefing. All participants should plan on arriving 15 minutes in advance, so they can then be briefed.

Internet and Ham radio

We have tech people, whose job is to assist with the technical side, but it is your responsibility to monitor the content that your youth are contributing.

In each time slot, forty-nine people are able to be taking part in activities. When you register, you will be grouped in sevens. If you do not have a full seven, your numbers may be made up by participants from other groups. Each group of seven will be assigned a timed session with the Radio, and the Internet. It is your responsibility to be on time at the designated location, for each of these sessions.

Supervision of sleeping

Groups of older cubs who are sleeping over need to be directly supervised by the appropriate number of suitable adults (this year, they are counted in the number for bookings).
Scout Leaders are required to supervise their youth members, as appropriate for their number, age, and maturity.
