We're looking for Base Support Crew!

Could that be you?

We are looking for some people to help out!

In particular, there will be a bank of computers set up in the tunnels, connected to ScoutLink for chatting, and possibly also accessing the Scout Minecraft server. There will also be at least one generally used for Skype. It would be good to have a tech-inclined Scout/Venturer/Rover or two, to hang out in this area, and keep an eye on it (from a 'helping people use it', and 'reminding them of the rules' perspective, rather than necessarily moderating what they are doing—the younger participants will have adults with them for that purpose).

We also have a number of other activities around the site (morse, signal flags, hand-held radios, semaphore), and we are hoping to have some floating helpers—not to run any of those activities (activities are set up to be self-run), but to be familiar with how they work, so that if any of the groups are stuck, they can get help.

The base will be operational for all activities from (we think!) 0900–1900 on Saturday the 16th.
We are looking for two Tech Support Crew, and four Roving Activity Crew for each of the following slots:
09:00-11:00
11:00-13:00
13:00-15:00
15:00-17:00
17:00-19:00.

There will also be overnight activity on both the Friday night—hopefully Ham and Internet, and Saturday night—Internet only, (which won't require so much of the 'helping people use stuff', but will be when we're setting up and striking, so there will definitely be work to be done!)
Base Support Crew who are willing to help out with set-up and striking may be welcome to stay overnight in the tunnels.

Bookings to visit the base and participate (including bookings for overnight stays—tunnels, tents, or command post) will be up as soon as we can. We are just confirming when we will have the ham radio operational.

The Base and activities are currently being organised now. If anyone is keen to come on board now and work with us on getting the base sorted, and helping run it for the weekend, we are absolutely keen to find some more organisers:-)
