The third time lucky - Ireland...
Not even this time went our quest smoothly. The November gales and storms over the Atlantic, the lack of airport staff and growing Covid numbers in western Europe, a wave of migrants in our transit of Amsterdam, all these caused the cancellation of the flight there, then the cancellation of the replacement flight, then re-directing to Dublin instead of Cork, and finally the cancellation of the return flight...it seemed that our remaining energy would be lost doing the Garda Vetting process, accompanied with doing the Manual Certificates. But it wasn't like that. In the end we did come back from Ireland, the city of Cork, soaked to the skin, but inside - really rich in experiences.
Our kindergartens:
The Orchard Childcare (South Douglas)
The Little Learners (Cobh)
Our girls from the Upper Secondary Pedagogical School and from the Pedagogical College were teaching both the morning and afternoon shifts, in two kindergartens. Each of them was assigned to one class, with children aged 3 - 6. Each of our girls was also assigned to her teacher/mentor.
A home for seniors:
Cobh Community Hospital
Our two girls from the Social College were working in the home for seniors, within the complex of the above mentioned hospital. They hed to keep the strict hygiene rules and follow the anti-Covid measures.
All the participants, with no difference, had to go through the complicated Garda Vetting process, which is a necessity to work with easily vulnerable people in Ireland, which was true for the small children and seniors.
With Ireland we rounded up the 18-month project of the short mobilities of vocational training Erasmus+.
