OUR PROJECT INTENTION
In this project we just tried to challenge the current needs of our school in the modern EU educational context. We prepared some teaching skills practice of our pre-school pedagogy students in Poland, Ireland and Spain in the local kindergartens and pre-school centres. Two students of social pedagogy also practised their skills in the home for the elderly in Poland.
What was entirely new in this project was the fact we also
1. included some teachers for job shadowing activities in Poland and Ireland
2. used virtual mobilities before the physical ones
Our 18-month project started in September 2024 with the participants selection process, then with the special and OLS preparation (English and Spanish) before departure, preparatory meetings of the coordinators and the teachers in the target workplaces in Krakow, Dublin and Valencia. We also included the virtual/online mobilities, during which our participants, both students for teaching practice and teachers for job shadowing introduced our system of education, described our kindergartens where they take their teaching practice, they also described our school, including the virtual tour. The participants shared their methodological worksheets with the foreign teachers to finalise the details of their teaching, regarding the particular needs in the Polish, Irish and Spanish kindergartens. The coordinators also discussed the particular skills and activities of the participants to be used in the Learning Agreements and Europasses. Moreover, these online metings were quite useful for ice breaking. After our arrival (later in our physical mobilities) at the foreign workplaces, our students and teachers felt really great to see familiar people and colleagues they had known long before.
So, together we had three actions of short-term mobilities of VET learners within 18 months to three target EU countries - Poland, Ireland and Spain. We sent 10 participants to each country for two weeks, we had 30 paricipants together, 26 students and 4 teachers.
Both the students and the teachers were placed in the target workplaces. The students of Pre-School and Out-of School Pedagogy were teaching in kindergartens and two students of Social pedagogy were activating clients in the home for the elderly and mentally and physically handicapped.
