Fourth Graders begin their instrumental music program with the Tubano and Djembe Drums in the music room. September's Unit focuses on the Back Beat and the Basic Beat, two common rhythm patterns that provide the foundation for the rest of the units to follow. The Instrumental Music Curriculum will utilize a variety of the instruments available in the Music Room and will culminate with a student showcase.
We also discuss instruments that will be part of the Fifth Grade Music program at the Middle School. Later in the year, Middle School Music Faculty will visit Evans Park and students will make their selections for Ensemble Music (Band, Chorus, and Orchestra) or General Music. All of this information will be available on Google Classroom and in future communications.
