Since we aim to turn every student into a dialogue facilitator, we’ve developed the L.E.A.R.N. dialogue model—a five-phase scripted dialogue process designed specifically for students. In just a few hours, you can create a dialogue on a topic of your choice using the L.E.A.R.N. Dialogue template and question prompts.
While you will find the template for your dialogue and question prompts here, it’s up to you to find an article or other piece of media to serve as the starting point for your dialogue. Selecting a topic that resonates with your campus community is crucial to the success of your dialogue, so be sure to discuss potential topics with your peers before carefully choosing a relevant piece of media. We recommend looking for op-eds in student newspapers or The Chronicle of Higher Education, as these media sources are filled with compelling articles to kickstart your conversation.
If you don't have time to write your own L.E.A.R.N. Dialogue, or want to get a sense of what a finished dialogue looks like, you will find scripts from past dialogues posted below.
