When I was 12 years old I had my appendix infected and went to the hospital for surgery

I wrote this to try and help myself understand how birth and death might be similar but also different in unexpected ways. 

This was written at a time when I felt that everything in my life was going wrong, and to cope I tried to find beauty in the small or mundane things around me.
