Raychel Callary, M.S.Ed., COMS, O&M Faculty
Raychel Callary is a certified orientation and mobility specialist who works mostly with adults over 55 in eastern Washington, providing instruction in orientation and mobility and daily living skills. She received an M.S. in special education from Northern Illinois University, and has maintained certification in orientation and mobility since 2008. As a child, Raychel learned by observing a blind adult that vision loss does not need to be a barrier to independence. She draws from this core principle to advocate for increased accessibility in her local community, and to approach clients with respect and a pragmatic attitude. Raychel brings her experience as a practitioner to students in the O&M program, emphasizing the benefits of utilizing learners' life experiences and goals to provide meaningful instruction.
