Roz has been in special education for 20 years, earning her undergraduate degree in Special Education from St. Cloud State University (MN) and her master’s in Teaching Students with Visual Impairments from the University of North Dakota. Roz is currently a Teacher for Students with Visual Impairments, working with children from birth to age 22 in a rural Minnesota.
Throughout her career, she has worked with students of all ability levels, including those with multiple impairments and deafblindness. She is passionate about creating engaging, accessible learning experiences and continually seeks ways to grow in her field. Currently, she is pursuing her certification in Orientation & Mobility (O&M) to provide more frequent and accessible mobility instruction to her students and is very excited to be an O&M FLIP Scholarship recipient.
Outside of work, she enjoys photography, crafts, spending time outdoors, and cheering on her son at his hockey and football games. This scholarship will help her expand her skills and continue making a meaningful impact on the students and families she serves.
