Hello everyone. My name is Maurice Nozaki but I go by MO. A little background about myself. I graduated from Pearl City High School in Pearl City, Hawaii. Yes, it’s a public school ☺. I attended Leeward Community College, got my Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts, then continued to the University of Hawaii at Manoa and earned my Bachelor of Arts in Communication.
I have been working since I was 14 years old (almost 32 years now) but I’m not gonna say my age. I’ve worked at a lot of restaurants during this time frame because the hours fit my schedule while I was attending high school and college.
For the past 21 years, I have been employed at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard with my current position being a Radiological Controls Technician-Instructor.
I love traveling. Some of the places I’ve travelled to (whether for work or personal) were Guam, Japan, Philippines, Toronto-Canada, Washington State, California, Oregon, Texas, Las Vegas-Nevada (hahahahaha us Hawaii people love the 9th Island), Chicago, North Dakota, Minnesota, Virginia, Maine, New Hampshire, Florida, and New York.
I also love pretty much everything that has to do with the outdoors which includes, but not limited to, swimming, golfing, camping, and putting some grub on the grill and BBQ-ing the smack out of ☺
I have 3 children: a 29 year old daughter who is a SPED Teacher, 19 year old daughter who is attend University of San Francisco and working on her Bachelor’s Degree in Music Management, and a 18 year old son who is graduating from high school in May 2024 and pursuing his dream of going to Japan to earn his Bachelor’s Degree from Keio University. I am currently married to the most patient wife I know (because she has to regulate me A LOT). We also have 2 dogs and 3 cats driving us crazy in addition to our 3 children.
I was first introduced into the world of COMS in January 2024 during a walking group where the visually impaired/legally blind were using a cane to exercise and socialize. I also been helping out with the COMS Assisted Shopping events where you assist them in shopping, eating, and socializing at well.
I am very excited to start this different path in my life and look forward to meeting all of you in person one day.
Aloha
