Co-Teaching Resources
Many COE programs utilize the co-teaching model in field placements. In this model:
the CT and the TC work together with groups of students, sharing the planning, organization, delivery and assessment of instruction, as well as the physical space.
CT and TC are actively involved and engaged in all aspects of instruction.
This model differs from traditional student teaching in which the cooperating teacher turns over the classroom to the candidate for several weeks in a row.
Research has shown that the co-teaching model benefits the entire learning community.
