ENVI Software Instructions

****NOTE: This Software is subject to the export control laws and regulations of the United States of America.  The software may not be exported or transferred to (i) Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan or Syria, or to any national of such countries, regardless of the individual's location; or (ii) to any entity on the U.S. Treasury Department's List of Specially Designated Nationals or the U.S. Department of Commerce Denied Person's List or Entity List.

Installation:

1.       Installation programs can be found at: I:\Students\Data\GIS\Remote Sensing\ENVI.

2.       We provide both Windows and Linux versions on the I: drive. If you need the software for other operating systems, please contact Geoffrey Duh (jduh@pdx.edu).

3.       Run installation program (e.g., envi56x-win.exe) with an account that has administrator privilege to install ENVI and IDL. Make sure to use the "Run as administrator" option to install the software.

 

License activation (for computers on PSU campus network):

Run the ENVI License Wizard and select the "Use License Server" option. Enter envi.license.pdx.edu as the server URL and use 7070 as the port. Click Connect to complete the license activation.

1. Try the Tutorials that come with the software. Tutorial data is available at I:\Students\Data\GIS\Remote Sensing\ENVI\Tutorial_Data.
