FOCOS trains people in the mindsets, ways of working, and safety practices of High-reliability organizations (HROs). The training has two components: a book and a software interactive tool.

The BOOK
HROs are safe and resilient because they follow five principles. The book introduces this way of working with many examples from the offshore energy industry. The book also explains how everyday behaviors and safety practices help or hinder the five principles.
The SOFTWARE
The SOFTWARE
Implementing safety practices in offshore energy companies can trigger a cascade of changes. Some improve the HRO principles, others weaken them. The FOCOS software simulates these effects. Users can experiment, what combination of safety practices move their organizations towards becoming an HRO, to assess complex situations.
