This work and subsequent post-doc fellowship provide important foundations for FOCOS. Dr. Alibage works for an international consultancy company. Dr. Liang is an assistant professor Stephenson Department of Entrepreneurship & Information Systems at LSU's School of Business. His research asks a simple question: Why do some people behave in ways that most of us would consider irrational and immoral? Why do people spread misinformation on the internet or believe conspiracy theories? Why do they act maliciously against their employer? Dr. Liang brings the theoretical perspectives and methods of this research to FOCOS, helping the team evaluate training outcomes. He also serves as the program co-director.

Ms. Espinoza-Gala is a lifetime practitioner and human factors consultant, with many contributions to the safety of offshore energy activities. As an industry consultant to the project, she connects the FOCOS team to people, companies, and the ongoing debates on safety culture in the Gulf of Mexico. She has published with the FOCOS team: She is the first author of an article on HRO and the Deepwater Horizon disaster in ACS Chemical Health & Safety.
