Eligibility

To be eligible for the DISC program, applicants must:

• Have an interest in advanced STEM manufacturing and technology careers

• Be enrolled at PSU for the 26-27 academic year (Fall, Winter, & Spring, minimum 4 credits each term) or be transfer student from a local community college with a winter transfer date to PSU.

• Have a class standing of Sophomore or higher. Please note, priority may be given to Juniors and Seniors.

• Undergraduate students only (post-bacs can apply). Applications from graduate students will be ignored.

• Have a projected graduation date no earlier than Spring 2027.

• Majors/Intended Majors: All STEM majors/minors are eligible. 

Some notes:

• There is no GPA requirement.

• If you applied earlier and weren't placed in an internship, you are welcome to apply again. 

• If you are a DISC Intern in Cohort 1 or 2, you can apply for Cohort 3, but priority will be given to applicants who were not part of Cohort 1.

• International students are eligible and can apply. Please note, you will need to go through a process called Curricular Practical Training (CPT). Students are required to take a 1-credit internship course with the associated fees (DISC can't cover the fee). Find more information here. 

• The DISC program is open to all. Students from a variety of backgrounds and cultures are especially encouraged to apply.
