About SRA
Summer Research Academy (SRA) is designed to engage undergraduate students interested in making a difference in their communities by pursuing research opportunities in STEM, biomedical, behavioral, clinical, health, and social sciences. Students do not have to have prior research experience to participate!
The goals of SRA are to provide undergraduate students an introduction to what research is, how it’s developed and conducted, and where to find relevant research opportunities! Participants will hear from a range of professional researchers in their respective fields, attend panel discussions with undergraduate and graduate students involved in research, and get to know the different undergraduate research opportunities available at PSU and OHSU.
Dates: June 18, 20, and 21 2024*.
Location: Portland State University
Note: Public access to Smith Memorial Student Union is through the doors on Broadway. All other doors require PSU card access.
During SRA, students will get to:
Improve their understanding of research;
Increase awareness of research opportunities;
Be introduced to research career paths and meet professionals;
Connect with professional development opportunities and events related to research
Highlights of SRA:
Hear from current undergraduates in research programs
Meet and network with PSU and OHSU researchers during the Research Opportunity Fair
Attend a poster hall session to learn about research being conducted by undergraduates
Participants will receive $250 for attending all 3-days of programming and breakfast/lunch and snacks!
*Please note: There is no SRA programming on June 19th due to the Juneteenth Holiday. PSU will be closed for the holiday.
