Fáilte!

Dia dhaoibh! Welcome to Windfield National School. We have thoroughly enjoyed engaging in all aspects of the Virtually Here project thus far. As you read our work that we have completed, we hope that you enjoy it. Go raibh maith agaibh!

Teamwork makes the dream work!

In our teams, we have been working collaboratively and researching our local landscape. Each team focused on a particular perspective regarding our theme of local landscape which included past, personal memories, fantasy and futuristic. We have thoroughly enjoyed working as researchers! We were also very busy creating drawings relevant to our specific theme and this enabled our creative side to shine! Here are some photographs of us working together on these projects.

Our Great Wall of Research!

Once we gathered all of our information and drawings, we then displayed them on the wall and named this our Great Wall of Research!

Slideshow Time!

We then utilised this information to help us create our slideshows regarding each theme as seen below.

360° camera

We had great fun taking photographs with our 360° camera. We used it to take various photographs of various places nearby.

Carrownagappul Bog

We visited Carrownagappul bog and took photographs with our 360° camera. At almost 1,200 hectares, it is the second biggest Living Bog project site, and thanks to its condition (plenty of raised bog and unique flora and fauna), its folklore and its location, Carrownagappul has the potential to become one of Ireland's foremost bogs to visit.

CoSpaces

We particularly enjoyed creating CoSpaces in our teams. We utilised the iPads to enable us to create our different scenes relating to our particular project theme. Again, we learned the importance of working collaboratively as a team and creating something amazing together. We really hope you enjoy exploring our CoSpaces below that we have created!

Our Learning Journey

Below is a PowerPoint outlining our learning journey regarding the Virtually Here project. We have thoroughly enjoyed experiencing the power of exploring the lines between natural realities and constructed digital realities. Certainly, we were enabled to playfully explore the ability to think three-dimensionally within a virtual and augmented reality. We also developed new skills in digital storytelling, developed storyboards and new narratives within a Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality. We would like to thank Jojo, Jennifer, Michael and all of the team for this wonderful opportunity to enhance our learning experience. Go raibh maith agaibh!
