A pathway is the direction that you take in High School and how it prepares you for various post-High School destinations. There are FIVE pathways that you can pursue in High School:
Apprenticeship: you learn a skilled trade (e.g., plumbing, electrical, tool and dye, etc.) on the job after High School in preparation for a career in that field
College: you attend a College program after High School
Community: you learn the skills that you need to transition into the community after High School
University: you attend a University program after High School
Work: you move directly into the workforce after High School
You do NOT need to know your pathway yet! At Mayfield, your courses in Grades 9 and 10 will prepare you for any of the Pathways, so please don't worry if you aren't sure which one is right for you just yet.
The Individual Pathway Plan (IPP) that you began working on in Grade 7 will follow you to Mayfield, and we will continue working on it during your time here.
