Understanding the Schedule
The time table is explained in the video above. The following are key elements of the time table you need to be aware of:
A - personal information (name and student number)
B - semester 1 section
C - semester 2 section
D - week 1 rotation courses (read vertically)
E - week 2 rotation courses (read vertically)
F - course name
G - teacher name
H - room number
Each day is divided into two classes and one common lunch. Students will always have their period 1 class between 8:50 AM and 11:24 AM. Their afternoon classes will run from 12:34 to 3:04.
When arriving at school in the morning, allow yourself time to find the correct entrance for your class and to go through the COVID-19 screening process.
Students are permitted to go outside, go home or go to the plaza at lunch. It is the student's responsibility to return to the school on time for their afternoon class! Lunch is from 11:24 AM to 12:34 PM.
Currently, David Suzuki Secondary School is operating on a modified semester schedule. Students are taking four (4) classes per semester with two (2) classes on alternating weeks week. This means that students will have class A+B on week 1 (green on our calendar to the right) and classes C+D on week 2.
NOTE: If your student or their teacher is self-isolating due to COVID exposures, symptoms, or any other reason, they will attend and/or conduct class entirely online, regardless of what cohort they are in. Students should check their email before leaving for school in the morning, just in case.
