Seesaw - please sign consent so you can access the new communications platform which will replace class pages. Please read message below:
Seesaw
Seesaw will be our new school communication Application, it will replace the class pages and will provide an opportunity for students and teachers to share learning with you, it will also be used as a messaging service and will enable parents and teachers to engage in dialogue. We will provide more information in the coming weeks on how parents can use the application.
We are currently introducing it in school and ensuring all staff are familiar with Seesaw, our next step will be to load student profiles on the system this will enable us to communicate directly with parents and provide relevant information. Our target launch date is the end of September for full implementation. As with all new systems, we will experience a few glitches, however the end result will be an enhanced communication system for our school.
Please see the data privacy information in the link below and confirm if you are happy for you and your family to use the application:

PERSONAL LEARNING GOAL
Our personal learning goal for September is 'Respectful.' Please let me know how your child is showing this personal learning goal. ALL of the personal learning goals are important and if you have any pictures or can share something that they have done that reflects this learning goal - we can share as a class.
Collaborators - we worked together to build a cube tower to cover the width of the classroom.
English
Reading
The children are continuing learning to read together as a class - with a focus on fluency and expression. When reading with your child, please look at how they deal with punctuation, such as commas and full stops. Whilst listening to them read, a lot of the children do not acknowledge basic punctuation.
The children will be looking at different styles of questions - how do we respond to the different styles?
Writing
In writing, the students will find out how to use commas in lists and how we use action verbs in sentences. They will also review their gramma understanding from year 1. They worked in groups to find synonyms to describe how the main character might be feeling throughout the story.
Handwriting
The children are working on letter formation - this week they are working on o,c, y and a. They need to look at letter size and where they start the formation of the letter from.
maths
This week the children are working on patterns and adding within 10s and 1s - what pattern do they notice if they count in 10s from 19? 37? 2? Can they explain their understanding using math vocabulary from this week?
What happens to the answer if they swap addition numbers around? Is it the same for subtraction questions? Why? What do we call that?
Tens and Ones addition game: Try this new game to practice addition within ones and tens.
Maths Dictionary - this week's vocabulary is on Google Classroom.
Dear Parents,
The children's Times Tables Rock Stars accounts have been set up. The video explains what it is about.
Letters with your child's log in details will be sent out on Thursday.
ipc - Explaining the theme
This week, we are focusing on the physical and human geography of our school location, and creating maps using pictures and symbols.
Exploring our locality and identifying physical and human geographical characteristics.
Using this information to create sketch maps of the local area.
The students worked collaboratively with Y1a to complete a travel survey about how they travel to and from school.
