White Horse Missions was founded by Art McCraw in 2013 as a 501(c)3 for the purpose of spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ in Central America. After twenty years of international service on the mission field God led Art to start White Horse Missions (WHM) to the people of Central America.
WHM began as a small group of individuals comprised of a Board of Directors under the vision and leadership of Art. WHM started with short-term mission trips with the intent of building relationships with pastors, educating church leadership, and building churches. Today the ministry has grown from its small beginnings to working in Honduras, Costa Rica, and Mexico. The need for partnering churches is vital as WHM spreads to other regions as God opens doors.
WHM functions under four areas of ministry including Spiritual Development, Church Growth, Ministerial Outreach, and Prayer. These ministry areas organize how we serve the needs of our partnering churches. This system also serves as an effective means of communicating the vision of our ministry.
2013-15 WHM started with a dream and saw God do many amazing things. We were able to construct a Medical Clinic in Choluteca, Honduras. The Clinic is a crucial part of our ministry to Honduras. The first floor is comprised of a waiting area, a pharmacy, private medical examination rooms, and a fully functioning bathroom. Upstairs functions as a place for mission teams to stay while serving in Honduras.
2016-18 WHM hosted mission groups that worked on construction projects and medical clinics hosted by the ministry. Others hosted VBS helping native churches with outreach. Many new connections with pastors was accomplished through these few years.
2019-21 WHM was impacted with the rest of the world through Covid-19. No traveling or mission groups were able to go serve during these years. But God was faithful through the financial support from churches. We were able to send financial help to many of the churches we had been working with. This time also gave us a new fresh vision for the growing ministry to Central America. Now that the COVID pandemic is becoming a thing of the past and travel more available we have been refreshing our relationships with churches and pastors in Central America. Now more than ever we need new partnerships with churches to help us reach people in Central America.
2022 WHM goals are to expand our seminary training program into Costa Rica and Guatemala. We have been working with the seminary to locate indigenous pastors who focus on church planting and are intentional about evangelizing their communities and beyond. We also want to build partnerships with US churches for short-term mission trips. Partnering churches helps local churches reach out to more areas through evangelism, VBS and other ministries. Through our medical facility we want to increase our help to the many who come our way for health care. We not only want to help them physically but most important we desire to see them healed spiritually.
Our Vision:
WHM wants to continue to educate local pastors with sound doctrine.
Partner with local pastors who have a vision for church multiplication.
Bring humanitarian services to our partnering churches in great need.
Build on a House Church movement across Central America.
Develop partnerships with US churches who desire to develop an international ministry within their church.
Bring the Good News of Jesus Christ to the unreached people of Central America.
How your church can be involved:
Short-term mission trips.
US churches can come and help a local pastor with VBS and outreach.
We can use Doctors, nurses and healthcare workers at our medical facility.
Construction projects are something everyone can be involved with.
Children, youth and adults can all come and serve in Honduras.
Most of our trips are eight days long. Usually from Saturday to Saturday.
With housing at our medical facility and a full kitchen for food preparation allows us to greatly reduce the cost of mission trips.
As of this year you do not need to have a Covid vaccination to come to Honduras. You will only need a passport and a negative Covid test upon entry.
Churches can also help financially with building projects such as small church buildings.
Churches and individuals can adopt a pastor for a very small amount to put him through seminary.
