How to make Medical Play Dolls

"Research shows that medical play can help your child feel more comfortable in the hospital. It can also help your child cope with health care in the future." -St. Judes Research hospital

what you need

-Medical Play Doll Pattern (Provided under patterns)

-Skin Color Fabric (I used sheets and I dyed them different skin tones)

-Scissors

-Sewing Machine

-Poly Fill

-Needle

-White thread

-Biased tape

Step 1

Gather your fabric or sheet large enough that you will be able to cut 2 patterns of the doll body out of.

Step 2

Next, trace the 2 pieces of doll on the fabric and cut it out. Iron both of the pieces flat and pin them together.

Step 3

Sew, sew, sew!! Make sure to leave a hole in the side of the doll, about 3 inches. By doing so you leave a hole large enough to flip and stuff the doll.

Step 4

Once, when you are finished sewing, flip the doll right side out.

Step 5

Now, you must stuff the dolls. Stuff with polyfill to how you would want your stuffed animal to feel.

Step 6

Lastly, sew up the 3 inch hold using the ladder stitch. Below I have included a link on how to do sew the ladder stitch.
