Unfortunately, because we cover 3 weeks of material in one week, if a student is unable to attend any one of the 4 classes they will not be eligible to earn a passing grade.
During the first week of the term, instructors must Identify students who are enrolled but not engaged in a class.
Students who do not attend the first class are referred to as "No Show" students and will be dropped from the class as per PCC's G302 Grading Guidelines policy.
Due to the sequential nature of our coursework, students are required to attend and participate in every class. As a team, we have decided that students cannot miss more than a total of 20% of the course. For this course that is even 1 of the class meetings. If you miss any of the class meetings, you will be unable to earn a passing grade in the class. If you are compelled to miss any class you encouraged to withdraw from the course and re-register for a future term.
Please see the following links for PCC Grading Guidelines and Drop/Withdraw deadlines: Grading Guidelines Drop/Withdrawal Deadlines
Students in this course are expected to enter the course at least three times a week to check announcements and email, study the learning materials, complete assignments, and work on projects. For each credit hour a student should expect to spend at least 3 hours each week during a 10-week course. You can expect to spend at least 3 - 5 hours per week on this 1-credit course.
It is important to read through everything carefully. Read, and then read again! If something is still unclear, please ask your classmates in the Course Lobby or send the instructor an email. We also highly recommend uploading a picture or avatar to your profile. This will help create a sense of place and community in our virtual and in-person classroom!
