CHOKMAH
WISDOM

Chokmah is the second Sephirah on the Tree of Life, known as "Wisdom." It represents the raw, dynamic force of creation—the initial spark of inspiration that flows directly from Kether (The Crown). In Hermetic Qabalah, Chokmah is the source of pure, undifferentiated energy, the foundation of all that exists before it is shaped or defined by the other Sephiroth.

Chokmah is often associated with the masculine principle, embodying active force, creativity, and the drive to expand. It is the source of all potential, an outpouring of divine will that fuels the process of creation. This energy is unformed and limitless, giving rise to everything in the universe but remaining untamed and free.

Chokmah works closely with Binah (Understanding), which provides the form and structure necessary for Chokmah’s energy to manifest. While Chokmah is about pure wisdom and potential, it must be balanced by the restraint and shaping power of Binah to create order in the universe. Together, they form the foundation of creation—Chokmah providing the seed, and Binah nurturing that seed into life.

Chokmah teaches us the importance of embracing the creative flow, the power of intuition, and the wisdom that comes from tapping into the boundless possibilities of the universe.
