Camera obscura is a method that reflects light coming through a small hole in a dark room. The light being reflected creates an imagery from outside. As a way to learn more about this method, I had to create one by using one room in my house. In other words, the task was to use any room and make it dark by using any material that can cover up the window. The requirement was to also cut up a little hole and take pictures of your work's progess.

Work in Progress
Originally, I planned to use my bedroom for this assignment, but after a while of thinking, I decided that it would not be a good fit. One of the problems is that the image would be shown on both my dresser and the wall. I figured it would've had a strange look to it. Another problem is that the window in my room only shows the exterior wall of the house next door, and I figured something like that would've been really boring to look at. It didn't take too long before choosing the laundry room as my next option. The window shows parts of the neighborhood, and the imagery would reflect on the door. The laundry room is also one of the smallest rooms in my house and I thought it would make the progress much easier.
Finding the materials, as well as using them to cover both the window and the door wasn't too bad. While looking for the materials I came across a box full of unused sheets of colored paper. Since no one was going to use them, I felt that they would be perfect for the project. I also borrowed some duct tape and a pair of scissors to cut and stick the paper into the window. After covering the window, a traced a hole in the middle and carefully used scissors to cut the hole without damaging anything. It was that moment where I decided to test my skills and while it was able to reflect the image, I felt that the different colors would also be reflecting the door and I thought it would mess up the image. I used more paper to cover up the window, but instead of having every paper to be different colors I decided to use some of the same colors, which is dark and light blue. I also thought using the shades to cover the upper part would be really helpful. After modifying most of the window I used white paper to cover up parts of the door.
Other than having to modify the window the assignment turned out to be easier than I originally thought. I couldn't get all of the photos from this assignment because it would've put too much work on me. If you want to see more photos, I posted a link of my PowerPoint presentation. I made it accessible for everyone, so hopefully it will take you to the presentation without any problems.
