 An Average Person From China

The average Chinese has unique personalities, habits, and traditions different from other countries. First,the average Chinese person likes to work. They work all the time, except during the Chinese New Year. Many people don't like holidays in China. Chinese people really like money. Money is a very popular gift in China. In China, there are some celebratory days, like wedding days, birthdays, and even the day when someone dies. People put money in red envelopes and give them to friends. For example, on Chinese New Year, when people meet other people, they always say:"恭喜发财”. It means: "Make more money". So, working hard and  making more money are important things in Chinese culture. An average Chinese person doesn't move in his or her lifetime. Chinese people prefer a stable working environment and a familiar living environment. In conclusion, the average Chinese has different values and traditions from other countries.

Life In The U.S. (Email Writing) 

Hello  Laura,

Laura, I have many things to tell you.  I‘m learning English  and new culture in the U.S.A. I’m trying to adapt to my new life. I’m taking classes three days a week.  There are many beautiful forests and parks in Oregon and Washington. We are approximately an hour from the Washington border.  I’m also trying food from different countries; everything is new for me.  But more importantly for me is I meet people from different countries. I try to talk to them, we laugh, I enjoy their company. You know, I can’t understand why there are wars.  In the classroom, It doesn’t matter where we’re from, we all get along well.  Laura, life is different here than in our country.  I remember when we enjoyed time together in Mexico.  Finally, I tell you that my teacher is from Brazil, and she is very kind to everyone.

I hope you come visit me soon, cousin.  I miss you so much.
